Whether you're clearing some shelf space, downsizing a collection, or dealing with a loved one's estate, Vinyl Planet would be delighted to hear from you.
We buy vinyl collections of all sizes throughout Scotland. You're welcome to contact us about anything from a handful of albums to several thousand records.
For larger collections we're happy to travel to you, while smaller collections can usually be arranged by appointment or at one of our regular market locations.
Every collection is different, and we'd much rather have a conversation than make assumptions. If you've got records you're thinking about selling, get in touch—we'd love to see what you have.
Before you get in touch
It helps if you can tell us a little about the collection:
Approximately how many records are there?
Are they LPs, singles (7" or 12"), or a mixture of both?
Is it all vinyl, or are there CDs and cassettes as well?
What sort of condition are the records and sleeves in?
Which artists or bands are included?
What genres are they? (Rock, Pop, Punk, Metal, Soul, Jazz, Indie, Folk etc.)
What era are they mainly from? (1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s or newer?)
Do you already have a price in mind?
Don't worry if you don't know the answer to all of these questions. A few photos or a quick video of the collection is often enough for us to get a good idea.
How we value your records
At Vinyl Planet we believe in being honest, fair and transparent.
The amount we offer is based on several factors including:
The condition of the records and sleeves
How desirable they are
Current market demand
Whether we already have multiple copies in stock
How quickly we expect them to sell
Our aim is to offer a fair trade price that works for both of us. We want sellers to leave feeling they've been treated properly, and we want to stock records that our customers will enjoy.
Because every collection is unique, we're unable to provide accurate valuations or offers over the phone or by message alone. Once we've seen the records, we'll happily explain how we've arrived at our offer.
There is never any pressure to sell.

That doesn't mean we won't have a look—we're always happy to advise—but these tend to have very limited demand.
